Ritter’s Rant 084: Constitutional Responsibility

Источник: https://scottritter.substack.com/p/ritters-rant-084-constitutional-responsibility

Hello and welcome to this edition of Ritter's Rant. Today we're going to be talking about constitutional responsibility. Ladies and gentlemen, we reached a point where the President of the United States is no longer capable of rational thought. The man has put out a social media posting threatening to end a civilization, to terminate the people of Iran. This isn't your standard bluster, etc. We're talking about a war crime of scope and scale unimaginable, the genocide of an entire people. There is no justification for this under international law, under the law of war. We're talking about extreme collective punishment, punishing an entire people, an entire civilization, because their government has shown the audacity to resist an illegal war of aggression, that their government has found a soft spot in the American structure of global hegemony, the Strait of Hormuz, and that their government, the Iranian government, has been able to sustain control over the Strait of Hormuz in a fashion which puts at risk the the plans of the Trump administration for global hegemony, for furtherance of Israeli-American enterprise in the Middle East that requires Iran to bend the knee to submit something that the Iranian nation, the Iranian people refuse to do.

And so the President of the United States has articulated in grand fashion a genocide on a scope and scale that has not been achieved by anybody since the time of the Mongols. You know, we are literally talking about the absolute eradication of a people, of a nation. This is what the president is threatening. Some believe that the president is... by making a threat of the scope and scale, threatening the use of nuclear weapons. The president and others have said that this is not the case. But J.D. Vance says that there are weapons that are in our toolbox that we have not used and we will be compelled to use. And the only weapon capable of carrying out the eradication of an entire civilization is a nuclear weapon. You know, so this is where we're at. What's shocking is the silence of the American people. We, the people of the United States, why aren't we screaming out at the top of their lungs that this shall not be allowed?

This shall not be tolerated. What about the Congress of the United States, which has, of course, abrogated its constitutional responsibilities and duties when it comes to declaring war? You know, will Congress remain silent in the face of this most blatant of war crimes? I mean, we are already a war criminal nation having embarked on an illegal war of aggression against Iran with zero justification under international law and zero authority under constitutional mandate. You know, so I guess we've decided to, you know, in for a dime, in for a dollar if we've committed the most egregious war crime of all war crimes, a act of a war of aggression, Justice Jackson at the Nuremberg trials prosecuting Nazi war criminals said this is the the gravest of war crimes because from this war crime, all other crimes are committed. And here we see truth to his words, the wisdom of his words. We have committed a war of aggression.

And now because we can't win this war of aggression, we are getting ready to commit genocide on a scope and scale unimaginable. The eradication of an entire civilization, the eradication of, you know, an entire nation, of its people, of its population. And if he's using nuclear weapons, this puts the United States in an all new category. We will become the ultimate war criminal nation. I would say to the generals and the officers and the men serving in the United States military today, you cannot obey these orders. If you are ordered to use nuclear weapons against Iran, these are orders you must disobey. These are patently unconstitutional orders they don't meet the requirements of distinction meaning can you distinguish between military and civilian this is an act of collective punishment you are seeking to eradicate a people because their government won't surrender this is not lawful so you must reject this proportionality There is no proportionality.

Iran is not threatening to eradicate the entire world. Iran is simply defending itself using the resources available. And because this frustrates the plans and ambitions of Donald Trump, he's seeking to eradicate them potentially using nuclear weapons. This order must be disobeyed. And for the Democrats right now, this is your moment. You must make it clear that if Donald Trump embarks on this path, that he will pay the ultimate price. And that means that if you win in November, and I believe you will, you must not only impeach, but you must convict not just Donald Trump, but everybody involved in the decision chain linked to this patently unlawful order. If this order is implemented, everybody involved, whether it be the vice president or the chief of staff the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff and every officer and enlisted personnel all the way down to anybody involved in implementing this order they must all be held accountable to the rule of law or else it's over for the united states We must cleanse ourselves of our sins and the sins that are being committed in our name.

This war, this illegal war of aggression against Iran is the ultimate insult. It began with a cruise missile attack on a children's school. 175 children, the ages of 6 to 12, slaughtered by American cruise missiles because Pete Hegseth said the rule of law doesn't matter. And now we see the consequences for the issuance of such orders because now the President of the United States is threatening to eliminate, to erase an entire civilization. The rule of law doesn't matter anymore. We have to make it matter or else we don't matter collectively. We, the people of the United States of America. The only thing that unites us is the rulebook. The rulebook that Pete Hegseth has foregone, the rulebook that Donald Trump says doesn't matter. And that rulebook is the United States Constitution. We, the people of the United States, we are the ultimate defenders of this Constitution, and it's time for us to rise up and do so.

I'm not talking about violence. I'm not talking about anything illegal. We must use the tools made available to us by the Constitution, our ability to vote, and we must put this president on notice that his agenda will be voted out of office come November, and we will respond in such a fashion that His opponents will be empowered to not only remove him from office, but to put him in jail for the rest of his life. These are consequences that must be made apparent to this president as soon as possible to prevent this most horrific of crimes from taking place. If the United States follows through with the threats of the president, we the people of the United States will go down in history There's nothing more than the most recent manifestation of the good German. You know, the Germans that stood by silently in the 1930s as Adolf Hitler rose to power, took power, and then remained silent through the 1940s as he waged global conflict and committed genocide against the Jews, the Poles, the Slavs, the Gypsies, and other non-Aryan people, the good Germans, who are despised openly today by people who know their history.

The good American will become something new. That will be said that is a more graver insult than the good German, the good American who's remained silent while this madman pushed us towards a war that didn't need to be fought and seeks to use weapons that should never be used. This has been my rant. The next time a thought crosses my mind, I'll be sure to let you know.
